Emollient

These are mild, softening and laxative medicines. They soothe dryness or irritation of the membranes, and make the passages slippery due to their soft and moist nature. They are used for conditions of dryness, or Heat and Inflammation.
Most of these medicines are moist, some have tonic qualities.
