Preparation:

Powder, and mix with three times their weight of clarified Honey to form an Electuary

Function:

Warms, clears Wind, Cold and Damp, eases Pain

Use:

1. Cold and Damp-type Gout & Arthritis
2. Rheumatism from Cold and Damp
3. Special for Feet pain from Cold and Damp
4. Other Joint pain of the Lower Body from Cold and Damp

Dose:

3–4 drams before a warm bath

Cautions:

1. Not used in Heat or Yin deficiency.
2. Scammony, Colchicum and Euphorbium are all irritant and toxic in overdose. Birthwort is forbidden in many countries so should be omitted or substituted. Dose should begin smaller, increasing to 3 drams, and only increasing to 4 drams if required.
