Galangal

Alpina officinarum

1 dram each

Preparation:

Decoct from 3 pints down to 2 pints, adding 1⁄2 ounce bruised Caraway seeds towards the end.

Function:

Clears Wind and Heat, moves Qi, relieves Spasm

Use:

1. Used as the Bitter Decoction, but is better to relieve pain and spasm
2. Promotes Digestion
3. Obstructions of the Liver, Stomach, Bowels and Head
4. relieves pains and spasms of the Stomach and Bowels
5. good for various Nervous conditions
6. Headaches etc.

Dose:

Take a small cupful, 2 or 3 times daily.
