Ambergris

Ambre gris

2 scruples

Musk

Moschus

1 scruple

Preparation:

Powder, and with Syrup of Rose, form a Confection

Function:

Strengthen the Stomach, move Qi, opens Obstruction

Use:

1. Digestive weakness with Damp
2. Loss of Appetite
3. Heart weakness

Dose:

1⁄2–1 dram

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

This is a variation of Aromaticum Rosatum but was far less commonly used. It is more opening because of the Musk and Ambergris, but less strengthening as Aromaticum Rosatum contains Tragacanth and Gum Arabic.
