Dhanyaka (Coriander seed)

Coriandrum sativum

1 part ea.

Saunf (Fennel seed)

Foeniculum vulgare

Preparation:

Powder

Function:

Clears Damp, Settles Wind, Stops Leakage

Use:

Loose stool, stool with mucus, abdominal colic, cramping and bloating
1. Diarrhea, acute and chronic
2. Dysentery
3. Colitis
4. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
5. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (with above symptoms)

Dose:

Adults: 1–3 grams three times daily
Children (5–10): 500–750mg three times daily
Taken with Warm water, or with Buttermilk (for Colitis and IBS)

Cautions:

None noted
Due to its warming nature it is best suited to Cold, Wind and Phlegm types.

Modifications:

1. Diarrhea, Dysentery, combine with Holarrhena
2. Combines well with Kutajghan Vati for Diarrhea and Dysentery.
3. Dysentery, combine with Chebula roasted in Cow Ghee.
4. Chronic Diarrhea, combine with Panchamrit Parpati
