** Cow Bile is now used in place of Bear Bile in a larger dose. The large dose Bile listed in the second version possibly indicates use of the herbal substitute Veronica ciliata.

Preparation:

Pills or Powder

Function:

Clears Cold Bile, opens Obstruction, benefits Stomach

Use:

Stomachache, indigestion, bitter taste, poor appetite, yellowing of eyes, nails and skin
“helps in cases where: the tongue becomes white and urine muddy like vegetable oil”. (Kosoburov)
1. Bile diseases
2. “Cold Bile” causing white stool and urine thick like oil
3. Hepatitis
4. Cholecystitis
5. Tumors or thickening of the Gall Bladder
6. Tumors from Bile and Phlegm
7. Indigestion with poor appetite and nausea
8. Abdominal pain and distention

Dose:

2–3 grams with hot water

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

1. In Mongolia this formula is combined with Pacific 6 for mixed Wind (rLung) and Cold Bile (mkhris) disorders
2. When mixed with Garuda 5 it is used for cold Cholecystitis and Hepatitis.
