Brass is prepared by smelting 2 parts of Copper with 1 part of Zinc.

Temperature & Taste:

Warm, dry. Bitter

Uses:

1. Nourishes Blood, Stops Bleeding:

–Bleeding from various parts of the body
–serious types of Anemia

2. Clears Wind and Damp, Resists Poison:

–obstinate skin diseases inc. Leprosy

3. Kills Worms:

–used for Worms and Parasites

Dose:

60–125mg twice daily with Honey

Purification:

Brass may first be processed as the general method for preparation of Metals (see under Gold).It is then heated and quenched in Vitex negundo juice which has Turmeric in it. This is repeated 5 times.

Preparation:

“Prepare a paste of manahslla (Realgar) and gandhaka (Sulphur) with nimbu (Citrus medica var. acida) juice. Apply it on the purified brass leaves and subjected to puta (ardha-gajaputa) heating. In second and third puta use manahiila (Realgar) and sulphur 1/4th part to it. By applying such three putas it converts into bhasma form or its marana (firing) can also be done by the method mentioned for copper.” (Rasamritam)
