1. Ladies Thistle leaves boiled and used as a wash or poultice.
2. Two or 3 ounces of Chervil juice taken.
3. Take a dram of Betony powder with water
4. Cumin, Salt (1 oz.), Honey (4 oz.). Boil a little and apply warm.

    Lacca
    Myrrh
    Saffron.                             2 drams ea.
    Fenugreek                       half dram
    Red Earth                        3 drams

Decoction for Bruising
    Ladies Mantle
    Fennel
    Sage
    Parsley                           1 handful ea.
    Aniseed
    Fennel seed
    Hyssop
    Elecampane                  2 oz. ea.
Boil in 2 pints of water until one-third has wasted. “Drinking oftentimes of the said decoction, you shall see a marvellous experience” (Secrets of Alexis)

Bruising of the Liver
    Rhubarb                          10 drams
    Ginger                             20 drams
    Lacca                                5 drams

Plaster for Bruising:
   Comfrey
   Daisy leaf                         3 oz. each
   Camomile
   Meliot                                1 oz. each
Boil together, beat to a pulp, when using add a little Oil of Roses. (Wirtzung)

Plaster for Bruising
    Fresh Wormwood.         3 handfuls
    Comfrey leaf and root   2 handfuls
    Camomile
    Meliot                               1 handful ea.
    Fenugreek powder
    Linseed powder             3 drams ea.
    Oil of Camomile
    Oil of Roses
    Butter           .                    6 drams ea.
Make a plaster.

Stronger Plaster for Bruising:
   Comfrey root
   Daisy leaf                           3 oz. each
   Camomile
   Meliot
   Wormwood
   Cumin                                 1 oz. each
   Saffron                                1 dram
   Bean meal                         4 oz.
   Fresh Butter                       2 oz.
   Fenugreek meal               1 ½ oz.
Boil the herbs in water, then make a plaster. (Wirtzung)
