Preparation:

Powder

Function:

Settles Wind, Clears Damp, Benefits Digestion
Used for Vata-Kapha (Wind-Phlegm) disorders, clears Ama

Use:

1. Loss of Appetite
2. Abdominal distention, bloating, colic
3. Obesity
4. Rheumatoid Arthritis
5. Pain and heaviness in the muscles and joints
6. Fever (associated with Ama, Damp)
7. Chronic Low-grade Fever
8. Liver disorders (Hepatitis, Fatty Liver, raised Liver enzymes)
9. High Cholesterol
10. It has been recommended in some Auto-Immune diseases
11. Non-bleeding Hemorrhoids

Dose:

Take 10 grams of powder and boil in 160 mls. down to 40 mls. Dose is 10–20 mls twice daily.
Tablets are also used (prepared from extract): dose is typically 1 gram, twice daily.
Powder: 2 grams

Cautions:

1. Not suitable in Heat (Pitta) conditions.
2. Avoid in Pregnancy
