Decoct in steeled water

Function:

Strengthens the Kidneys, Astringent

Use:

Diabetes associated with Heat

Dose:

a small cupful twice daily

Comment:

The medical term ‘Diabetes’ traditionally referred to excessive passing of Urine, so is not identical to the modern diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus. However, the syndrome of excess Urine, Thirst and Wasting was known in Traditional Medicine, and the formulas traditionally used for Diabetes will sometimes be applicable to modern Diabetes in certain circumstances.
