10 grams ea.

Licorice

Glycyrrhiza glabra

5 grams

Preparation:

Decoct in 3 cups of water down to 2 cups

Function:

clears Phlegm and Heat, resolves Swellings

Use:

1. Scrofula
2. Lymphadenitis

3. Phlegm-Heat swellings

Dose:

a cupful twice daily; the above should be taken over the course of the day

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

1. Additions may include Laminaria, Hyssop or Figwort root
