* Fresh Snails are shelled and cleansed before decocting.
Preparation:
Boil the snails gently in the milk to half, Strain, then add 1 oz. of Rose Water and ½ oz. of White Sugar candy. They may also be decocted in Water, but Milk is better to nourish the Yin in weak and dry bodies.
Function:
Clears Heat, Nourishes Yin
Use:
Dry mouth, night sweats, Tidal Fever or chronic Low-Grade Fever, generally dryness of the body
1. Weakness and wasting from Yin Deficiency
2. Consumption
3. Cachexia in Tuberculosis or Cancer
Dose:
Take a draught each morning.
Cautions:
Not used in Phlegm or Damp conditions.
Modifications:
1. Snails may also be added to Chicken Soup.
2. Herbs such as Comfrey, Plantain leaf, Figs or Licorice can be added.
