Electuary for Jaundice in Children

Rhubarb powder 

Rheum palmatum

1⁄2 ounce

Currants

Ribes nigrum

2 handfuls

Preparation:

Cut the Currants, press through a sieve (it is best to steam them a little first), then add the Rhubarb in powder and mix well.

Function:

Clears Heat, opens Obstructions

Use:

Specific for Jaundice in Children

Dose:

Give as much as a Nutmeg (less for young children) every morning for several days

Cautions:

Do not give for more than 7–10 days without a break
