Preparation:
Powder and with sufficient Honey, form an Electuary
Function:
Clears Wind-Cold, promotes Circulation, benefits the Eyes
Use:
Poor and Failing Eyesight, especially in the aged
Dose:
1 dram morning and evening, in Eyebright water or wine, or some other suitable vehicle (used after necessary purging).
Comment:
“Pope Innocentius the third did send [this formula] to an Abbot, who was almost blind”. (Wirtzung, 1598) Wirtzung said to take 1 dram morning and evening “and you shall see marvels”.
