Linseed

Linium usitatissimum

1⁄2 oz.

Preparation:

Powder

Function:

Clears Heat, relieves Irritation

Use:

1. Irritation of the Stomach and Intestines: Diarrhea
2. Acute Cough from Heat
3. Heat of the Urine, Cystitis

Dose:

1 scruple–1⁄2 dram in a suitable vehicle (Barley water etc.)

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

1. It is stronger with a little Licorice
2. with Pain, add Poppy seed
