Preparation:
Powder
Function:
Clears Heat, resolves Phlegm, nourish Yin
Use:
1. Heat of the Stomach, Liver, Kidney
2. Hot and sharp Urine
3. Heat-type Cough, Phlegm-Heat Cough
4. Yin deficiency, Dryness
5. Hectic Fever, Yin-deficient Fever
6. Weakness, deficiency
7. Increases and enriches Milk supply
8. Forgetfulness; enhances cognition
9. Premature ejaculation
10. Improves skin complexion; dry or cracked skin
Dose:
2–5 grams of the Powder
As an item of diet, up to 30 grams daily may be taken.
Cautions:
Large doses can increase Phlegm
Modifications:
1. Lung Heat Cough, Four Cold Seeds, Poppy seed, Tragacanth, Licorice
2. Strengthen the Lungs, Four Cold Seeds, Pine nuts, Almond, Poppy seed, Tragacanth, Licorice
3. Deficient Heat, Hectic Fever, Four Cold Seeds with Pearl, Coral, Rose, Borage
4. Urinary Stones, Urinary obstruction, Four Cold Seeds, Marshmallow, Fennel seed, Lapis Judaicus
5. Liver Heat, Four Cold Seeds, Sandalwood, Rose, Purslane seed, Rhubarb
6. Excess acid, Four Cold Seeds with Sugar and Milk
7. Eye weakness, Four Cold Seeds with Almond and Fnnel seed
8. Hair falling, Four Cold Seeds, Emblic Myrobalans, Licorice (Ayurveda)
