Convovulus scammonia

Preparation:

Powder and with 2 lbs., 3 oz., 3 drams of clarified Honey, form an Electuary.

Function:

Purges Phlegm and Damp, settles Wind, strengthens the Spleen

Use:

1. Phlegm and Damp affecting the Spleen and Stomach
2. Poor appetite and digestion from Damp
3. Nausea and Vomiting
4. Loose Bowels from Spleen and Stomach Damp
5. Kidney Pain
6. Colic

Dose:

1–2 drams

Cautions:

1. Not used in Yin deficiency.
2. Not used in Pregnancy

Similar Formulas:

This is used similarly to Greater Indian Electuary. That is better corrected, and was more commonly used.
