Chen Pi (Tanergine peel)

Citrus reticulata

9–12 grams

Sheng Jiang (fresh Ginger)

Zingiber officinalis

9–18 grams

Preparation:

Prepare a standard decoction.

Function:

Warms the Stomach, Stops Vomiting

Use:

Epigastric and Abdominal pain which is better with warmth, worse with cold, pale tongue with a white coat
1. Cold in the Stomach
2. Nausea, Vomiting
3. Poor appetite

Dose:

The above decoction is divided into 3 equal doses to be taken over the course of a day.

Cautions:

Not used for Stomach Heat

Modifications:

1. With Qi deficiency, add Atractylodes Bai Zhu
2. With more Phlegm and Damp, add Poria Fu Ling, Pinellia Ban Xia.
