Liver Pain

Liver pain, felt in the upper right abdomen over the Liver area, usually comes from inflammation, infection, or damage, with common causes being Viral Hepatitis, Toxic Hepatitis, Fatty Liver disease, Cirrhosis, Gall Stones, Cholecystitis, Tumors, or occasionally from inherited conditions such as Hemochromatosis.

In Traditional medicine, it falls under Obstruction (Western Tradition), or either Qi or Blood Stagnation in TCM. Acute cases related to acute infection or inflammation may be associated with Heat or Toxic Heat.
