Lauha Bhasma (Iron Bhasma)

Preparation:

Powder
Today, it is commonly made in pill or tablet form.

Function:

Nourishes Blood, Benefits Liver, Calms Vata (Wind) and Kapha (Phlegm)

Use:

Conditions with pale tongue, weak pulse, and signs or Phlegm and Wind aggravation.
1. Iron deficiency Anemia (also other forms of Anemia)
2. Skin diseases including Vitiligo
3. Carbuncle
4. Diabetes
5. Jaundice
6. Liver disease
7. Heart disease
8. Obesity

Dose:

250mg–1 gram twice daily after meals with Honey or Ghee

Cautions:

1. Avoid in those with sensitive digestion or gastritis

Modifications:

1. For Heart disease, take with Arjuna
2. For Liver disease, taken with Boerhaavia and Honey
3. Worms, take with Embelia
