Whole dried animal

Temperature & Taste:

Neutral. Sweet, Salty (Some sources say Cold)

Uses:

1. Warms and Strengthens the Kidneys:

–a seminal and male sex tonic
–strengthens the Bones and Lower Back
–used for Diarrhea with deficiency

2. Clears Phlegm, Stops Cough:

–Phlegm-Cough, Bronchitis, especially in Children
–Childhood Asthma with excess Phlegm

3. Clears Phlegm, Resolves Knots and Nodules:

–Scrofula, Lymphadenitis
–Goiter, Thyroid swellings and tumors
–Phlegm Swellings

4. Resists Poison:

–Measles
–post-Measles Diarrhea

5. Moves the Blood, Resolves Stasis:

–Blood stasis especially with Yang Deficiency and Phlegm Masses

Dose:

Decoction: 10–15 grams
Powder: 1–4 grams

Preparation:

It is washed in fresh water and sun-dried.
