Dragon’s Blood

Daemonorops draco

1 dram

Musk

Moschus

1⁄2 dram

Aloe

Aloe spp.

1 oz.

Preparation:

Form a pill mass with Rue juice

Function:

Strengthens Qi, opens Obstructions, moves Qi and Blood

Use:

1. Diseases of the organs of Nutrition and Principle Organs
2. Continuous use preserves from Syncope and Trembling
3. Listed in the section for the Heart, so is useful for weakness of the Heart with pressure on the chest, breathlessness, Palpitations, chest pain

Dose:

1–2 drams

Cautions:

Not used during Pregnancy

Modifications:

1. To make it laxative, add female Agaric and prepared Scammony, of each 1 dram (source text).

Comment:

They were said to be ‘faithful against many diseases of the Body’.
