Colocynth

Citrullus colocynthus

4 scruples

Preparation:

Powder, steep in 4 oz. of Feverfew juice, and leave in a warm place to dry. Repeat thrice; From 1 dram form 6 pills

Function:

Purges excess, opens Obstruction, moves the Blood

Use:

1. Infertility associated with Excess, or obstructed Menstruation
2. Obstruction of the Uterus causing Dysmenorrhea, Amenorrhea and other obstruction of the Uterus.

Dose:

Take one pill every 3 days just before supper

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

This formula will stand without Colocynth.

Comment:

This formula is only suitable for strong bodies with obstruction. It clears excess and resolves obstruction of the Blood. As stated, it was only used every 3 days, with appropriate medicines being taken in the days between. In obstinate obstructions it may be necessary to take on an extended basis.
It could potentially be of use in Uterine Fibroids.
