Ginger	Zingiber officinalis	2 drams ea.
Nutmeg	Myristica fragrans	1 dram
Aniseed	Pimpinella anisum	1⁄2 ounce
Senna leaf	Cassia angustifolia	1 1⁄2 dram
Sugar	Saccharum	qs

Preparation:

Prepare a standard decoction, adding the Senna at the end of boiling, steeping for 10 minutes, straining, then add sugar to taste.

Function:

Gently purges

Use:

Used as a gentle purge of mixed humors in delicate constitutions

Dose:

Small cupful, morning or night
