Function:

Clears Heat, Astringent, resists Poison

Use:

1. Gonorrhea
2. Spermatorrhea associated with Heat

Dose:

1 dram in red wine or Purslane water

Modifications:



Gonorrhea and Spermatorrhea were traditionally called ‘Running of the Reins’ or a ‘Flux’ (Leakage) of the Kidneys. Spermatorrhea is a leaking of Semen which may be at Night while asleep, or may leak during the day. This is a deficiency condition that requires Astringent medicines along with medicine to strengthen the Kidneys. Infectious Gonorrhea is associated with Heat and Toxin, and requires medicines appropriated to that end.
