Our Mastic of Middle Eastern origin comes in the form of small translucent tears to coarse powder, typically of pale yellow color. While this is cheaper than Chios Mastic, it is of no less quality which is clearly noted by its resinous, pine-like scent and clear, refreshing taste. In addition, the smaller tears are generally easier to powder.
Gum Mastic is an impoirtant traditional medicine with tonic properties.
NOTE:
Mastic of Middle Eastern origin typically has a small percentage of white and light grey tears, as opposed to Chios Mastic which is universally translucent yellow. This doesn’t impact the quality which we believe to be generally equal to Chios Mastic.
