Ba Dou (Croton) *

Croton tiglium

Gan Jiang (Ginger)

Zingiberis officinalis

Da Huang (Rhubarb)

Rheum palmatum

30 grams ea.

* Croton should be prepared before use.

Preparation:

Powder and form Honey pills
Today it is often used as a powder.

Function:

Strongly purges Cold Accumulation

Use:

Sudden intense abdominal pain, erratic breathing, bluish complexion, bluish tongue with white coating, and a deep, tight pulse.
1. Intestinal Obstruction (uncomplicated)
2. Acute Pancreatitis
3. Acute Appendicitis (uncomplicated)
4. Acute Cholecystitis
5. Food Poisoning
6. Ascites

Dose:

This formula is only used in Emergencies, and is therefore largely obsolete today.
Take the Pills, or grind some pills into powder and take 600–1500mg with warm water or rice rinse water.

Cautions:

1. This is a very potent formula, largely obsolete today. It should be used very cautiously, only in robust people and only in emergency situations..
1. Not used in Pregnancy, the very Young, Elderly or very Weak.
2. Avoid overdose. Not used for more than a few days at maximum.
3. Not used in Heat conditions
4. If continuous Diarrhea is caused, take luke warm rice porridge to stop teh Diarrhea.
