* Synthetic Bezoar and Musk are generally used today.

Preparation:

Powder; to each 100 grams of powder, add 90–100 grams of Honey and form pills, each weighing 6 grams

Function:

Opens the Orifices, Revives Consciousness, clears Phlegm, calms the Spirit

Use:

1. Apoplexy
2. Slurred Speech
3. Paralysis
4. Delirium
5. Loss of Consciousness
6. Trismus

Dose:

1 pill (6 grams) twice daily

Cautions:

1. Not suitable for Yin or Qi deficiency
2. Contains Cinnabar and Aristolchia which are not permitted in many countries. It can be made without Cinnabar and by replacing Costus for Aristolochia.
3. Not used during Pregnancy

Modifications:

1. Costus should be used in place of Aristolochia. Aristolochia Qing Mu Xiang is regarded as a variety of Costus (Mu Xiang).
