Botanical name:

This is prepared from the web of a spider living on Tea trees in Mount Emei, Sichuan Province China.
Some have said it is of fungal origin.

Spider web

Temperature & Taste:

Neutral, bland

Constituents:

Proteins, polysaccharides, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids

Uses:

1. Benefits Spleen and Qi, Nourishes Yin:-specifically used for Diabetes

-Metabolic disorders with Qi and Yin deficiency
-good for weakness with fatigue and polyuria
-these effects are due to the polysaccharide content, which have been found to have anti-diabetic effects.

Dose:

50–100 grams per day; wrap in gauze, soak in water for 10 minutes, then bring to boil and simmer 5–10 minutes.
Recommended doses for Diabetes:
1. Early stage (diabetes for less than 5 years): 50 grams daily, 30 days as a course of treatment.
2. Medium stage (diabetes between 5–10 years): 60 grams daily, 40 days as a course of treatment.
3. Chronic Diabetes (over 10 years): 80 grams daily, 50 days is a course of treatment

Main Combinations:

Most often used as a stand-alone herb.

Cautions:

Avoid fat meat, spicy food, Sichuan Pepper, and sugar during treatment
