Fresh Violet Viola odorata
Quince seed Cydonia oblonga 10 drams ea.
Melon seed Citrullus vulgaris 12 drams
Mallow seed Malva sylvestris 8 drams
Gum Arabic Acacia arabica 3 drams
Tragacanth Astragalus tragacanth

Preparation:

Steep in 7 lbs warm water overnight, then boil to half. Then add Sugar Penids 2 1⁄2 lbs., and form a syrup.

Function:

Clears Heat, moistens Yin, stops Fever

Use:

1. Pleurisy with Heat and Fever
2. May be used for Fever from excess Heat or Bile

Dose:

1–3 oz. with Barley water and mucilage of Psyllium morning and night
