It is similar to a number of related formula which are based on the ‘Kings and Minister’ formulas (as it is called in Tibetan Medicine) which is composed of Camphor, Sandalwood and Tabasheer.
The Troches of Rose of Mesue are similar as are various versions of Pills and Troches of Camphor and of Tabasheer. Some of them add moistening medicines such as Cold seeds or Tragacanth to prevent damage to the Yin from excess Heat.
