Fennel seed

Foeniculum vulgare

1⁄2 oz.

Cinnamon

Cinnamonum zeylanicum

3 drams

Preparation:

Bruise the herbs, put in a bag and steep in Rhenish wine (Riesling) (1 gallon or more).

Function:

Warms, benefits the Eyes

Use:

1. strengthens the Sight
2. used for mild and acute cases of failing Eyesight, photophobia, red and itchiness of the Eyes etc.

Dose:

a small glassful each morning

Cautions:

None noted

Modifications:

This is an expanded version of Eyebright Wine.
